Goodness knows, there are seemingly infinite sites these days to buy fashion. Once in a while a different twist on shopping does pop up that’s worthy of note. Today it is Chic Tiq. www.chictiq.com.

Chic Tiq provides the name of every fashion boutique in NYC by neighborhood. Keeping this information current is not an easy feat. Its’ interactive map allows the visitor to point to any respective neighborhood to see what to find there: store addresses and web links are included. What we find most appealing is the store Sale info noted on the left side of the page.

A Day in the Life of a NYC Shopping Tour

While escorting a student group recently from Canada on a Shop Gotham Garment Center student tour program, we were invited into the showroom of Michael Kaye, hot formal-wear designer (Michael Kaye Couture), who also happens to be from the groups’s same home town of Alberta. Mr. Kaye received The Fashion Group International’s 2004 RISING STAR AWARD (the same given to Zac Posen – not bad). He Kaye delighted the group with stories of the industry. Shoe-In Sample Sale a big score

Occasionally, its worth noting what we uncovered on a shopping tour. On last week’s Garment Center tour, we hit the bi-annual gargantuan Shoe-In Sample Sale. Even though it was Day 3, our 10 guests walked out with 25 pairs of boots/shoes. Timberland, Tory Burch and Michael Kors were the big scores mostly in the $49 range.
